Recommendations for making the Harvest Gathering Wall Hanging Quilt

- Do not pre-wash the fabric for the wall hanging kit.
- The magazine instructs you for cutting the outer border strips lengthwise. We are cutting it crosswise grain here in the shop which is fine too. Kits with a white sheet insert will need to cut their outer border strips selvage to selvage per yardages in those early kits.
- Nifty Notions: Use an appliqué pressing sheet if you can. A pressing sheet makes it nice and easy to lay out the appliqué pieces. Also use template plastic to cut out your diamond border pieces and inner border corner pieces. This will help you to cut straight and piece accurately.
- Important: from the light tan background print, cut the 20 and 1/2 inch square first. Then, cut the four strips out of the remaining fabric.
- Copper Fairy Frost and Outside Folded Border: press to the inside, then, the folded border will lay to the outside. The strips for the binding can be pieced from the left over fabric.
- Fusible Web: may need up to 2 yards depending on width of product used.
